Motivation- this piece is meant to be used as a meditation, similar to the Buddhist concept of Maranasati. What that is, is using a visual representation to help guide thinking. For example the monks would use a deceased person’s corpse, and put it on display for people would be able to see it every day to show what happens to people when they die. How we go from our thinking, feeling, self important selves to basically mush.  We all become mush. Doesn’t matter how much money you make, with lesson to teach, what grudges you had, you become much. Therefore is it worth it to be pissed off at the guy that cut you off if you’re just getting pissed off at another pile of mush? What about being angry at somebody who lied to you, cheated you, or whatever. In the end they will be mush, and you will be mush as well. So what really matters? What are we doing with this life?
