Artist's Description

This is a piece about that last moment when we leave this world and enter the next.. whatever you believe it is, it's not a nondenominational artwork. Whenever I paint the female body I am painting the "human spirit", the act of undress is mostly the act of leaving whatever this veil of reality has to offer, the other stalagmite shoes in the back represent other veils of reality existing on there own. This piece is about letting go of this reality and moving on to whatever is next.

Michael began his art career in high school, when his art became his way of communicating and expressing himself to other people. He received an art scholarship while in high school to attend Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, where he was able to participate in college level drawing classes. His specialty was portrait work, although he also did some sculpture. He took a quick break from art in 2001 and joined the army, where he became a combat medic.
