The concept is that during our dark moments at times we feel the storm rageing on the inside. Water crashing, suffocating, bubbling and churning. Sometimes it feels like the emotions are what we become completely and we become the sea .

Michael began his art career in high school, when his art became his way of communicating and expressing himself to other people. He received an art scholarship while in high school to attend Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, where he was able to participate in college level drawing classes. His specialty was portrait work, although he also did some sculpture. He took a quick break from art in 2001 and joined the army, where he became a combat medic.
